Cry of the Loon Lodge - A northern Minnesota resort on Lake Kabekona
Accommodations Activities Lake / Fishing Location & Attractions Home
We are honored to have been included in Cabins of Minnesota, with photos by Doug Ohman,
text by Bill Holm, published in 2007 by The Minnesota Historical Society.

Our log-sided cabins are homes to live in, not shelters to camp in. A stone fireplace invites you to pick up a book, pull up a chair, and put your feet on the warm hearth. The broad windows give you a panoramic view of Kabekona Lake and your north woods surroundings. Furnishings are attractive, the kitchens well equipped, beds comfortable, hot water plentiful for the bathroom shower, electric heat ready at a touch.

To confirm and hold a reservation, a deposit of $200 per cabin per week, or $100 for less than a week, is required. Your telephone reservation may be confirmed immediately with a credit card. If you prefer to send a check, we will hold your reservation for 7 days so that your deposit can be mailed and received.

In case of cancellation, your deposit less $20 handling cost will be returned if the vacancy is filled. Because prospective guests make their summer plans weeks or months ahead, summer cancellations are often hard to rebook.

Check-in time is 2 p.m. or after, check-out 10 a.m. or before. Sometimes we can arrange early check-in and late check-out on request (in the off-season only).

Minnesota State Bird

Each unit has a stone fireplace, lake view, patio porch or deck with lawn chairs, picnic table, hooded grill. Provisions include firewood, good books, radio/CD, towels, linens, all kitchenware, 4-burner stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker.

Free use of gas grill, fishing boats, water trampoline, “Fun Bugs,” canoe, kayak, life jackets, life cushions, paddle boat, playground, soccer field, basketball court, library-game room with its thousand books, table games, VCR and DVD movies.

The Lodge Suite, our newest two-bedroom vacation apartment, is requested by many guests. It's only about fifteen steps above the beach. They like the deck overlooking the lake, the way the living room, kitchen, and one bedroom take full advantage of the lake view, the big fieldstone fireplace and the new kitchen.

All indoor areas are now smoke-free.

Motor rental (8 HP) $110 per week, $25 per day, $10 per hour, plus gas.
